Bakırçay University Faculty of Medicine is committed to training competent and virtuous medical doctors who utilize evidence-based modern medical techniques, continuously update their knowledge, and prioritize biotechnological research.
Vision
To be a medical faculty recognized nationally and internationally that provides modern education and training in undergraduate and specialty programs, conducts scientific research and development projects contributing to public health, and collaborates with healthcare institutions offering exemplary health services and public health initiatives.

Dean’s Message
Our faculty aims not only to excel in education, training, research, and development activities but also to undertake multidimensional projects that touch various sectors of society. Our priority is to train well-equipped physicians who apply evidence-based medical practices in the field, remain active in clinical applications, continuously update their knowledge, and closely follow and implement emerging technologies.
Besides providing diagnostic and therapeutic services, we intend to offer a healthcare model emphasizing preventive medicine and focusing on the patient rather than the disease.
General Information
During the 2018-2019 academic year, with the approval of the Higher Education Council, 31 students were admitted to our faculty. According to the protocol with Dokuz Eylül University, they began their pre-graduate medical education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine. Our faculty will graduate its first students in the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Faculty of Medicine provides education, research, and regional/national social contribution activities in 45 departments affiliated with Basic Medical Sciences, Internal Medical Sciences, and Surgical Medical Sciences for both pre-graduate and post-graduate education. Preparations for establishing Basic Medical Sciences Laboratories continue, and affiliation studies with Çiğli Regional Training Hospital are ongoing.
Diploma Supplement
Upon graduation, students will receive a “Diploma Supplement” compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), documenting all educational activities throughout their training. Education will be provided according to national competencies and international standards.
Our university prioritizes the international quality of medical education and has made Erasmus agreements a key agenda item. Students will be able to complete part of their education abroad without losing academic time.
